Watch a short DVD about transition from primary school to secondary.

Principal’s Network presentation

IELLEN CEO, Gill Meek, and Senior Partnership Broker, Andrew Neophytou, recently presented at a Network meeting of School Principals, which was held 20 June 2013 in Elwood. This meeting, which attracts Principals from inner metropolitan and Bayside municipalities, was well attended with about fifty present. With both primary and secondary schools represented this was a great opportunity to highlight the IELLEN's partnership work around transition and the middle years.

Andrew provided an outline of the IELLEN's facilitation of the Inner City Regional Youth Affairs Network (ICRYAN), one of the key partnerships the IELLEN manages. Andrew highlighted the activities of the ICRYAN's Middle Years Working Group, particularly some of the key messages from the 2013 Middle Years Conference and Professional Development day. A conference report is forthcoming and will be widely disseminated.

Gill introduced the "Fire Up!" Transition DVD, a project which came out of the IELLEN's Career Transition Education Network (CTEN). A working group consisting of representatives from Middle Park Primary School and CBC St Kilda worked closely with the IELLEN on script writing though to final production, with the assistance of Blue SKYS Media. The DVD - available for viewing on the IELLEN website (click here to view) - has now been widely distributed to schools and other stakeholders within and now outside our service region.
