70 people attended our AGM & Awards breakfast, May 22. We believe this number make it our largest ever attended AGM / Awards event. With the feedback we received and the cross-section of people there, we’d also declare it our most successful ever!
Following AGM formalities we were delighted to present 9 awards on the morning. Andrew Neophytou (CEO) announced the winners, with IELLEN Chairperson Sam Joukadjian presenting the certificates. Student award winners also received gift vouchers.
The 9 winners this year were:
- Oakwood School (Caulfield campus), which was presented with a “Partnership Award” for its work with the IELLEN on the successful Cooking to Connect project.
- Citywide, Heritage Care (Epping), and South Yarra BMW, all of which received “Employer Recognition Awards”. As Andrew said, these awards were given “for their ongoing commitment and support of student industry placements, and a willingness to support students who may have additional needs.”
We were also pleased to present five young people with a “Student Recognition Award”, based on nominations received from staff of these schools: Loreto College, Melbourne High, Siena College, Prahran High, and the Youth2Industry College. All five young people were acknowledged for their resilience, notable achievements, or positive contributions. Congratulations once again to Georgia, Sam, Majella, Isabella, and Abdek.
